This statistic illustrates the share of device used to make long calls in the United Kingdom (UK) in 2017, by type of device. The highest share of respondents, which corresponded to 27 percent, stated that they always used the landline. Whereas 22 percent of respondents always used the cellphone. Similarly, respondents used landline phones more to make calls about personal appointments rather than using cellphones. Generally, there were many reasons for owning landline phones, but the most important reason was the less expensive call rates, especially for long calls.
