That year, the largest share of motorcycles (46 percent) were classified as Euro 3, followed by Euro 0 motorcycles with 24 percent of the total number of motorcycles.

*The European emission standards define emission limits for vehicles. The most stringent one, the Euro 6 standards, were introduced for light vehicles in September 2014. Since 2015, all newly introduced models in Europe had to comply with them. By contrast, Euro 0 vehicles are not subject to any emission requirements and are the most polluting category.
