As of 2022, the country with the highest age-standardized cancer prevalence rate among both men and women in Latin America and the Caribbean was Uruguay, with 1331.5 and 1301.6 cases per 100,000 population among men and women, respectively. While in some countries, such as Chile and Cuba, men had higher cancer prevalence rates than women, the opposite was true in most Latin American and Caribbean nations. That year, women had the highest cancer mortality rate in the region in Jamaica, while men had the highest mortality rate in Barbados.
