In 2022, the number of cornea transplants performed in Brazil amounted to 13,979 procedures, up from around 12,744 transplants completed a year earlier. Compared to 2020, cornea interventions increased by about 96 percent in Brazil. Moreover, over 20 thousand people were waiting for a cornea transplant in the South American country in 2021.
