In 2022, Brazil performed 359 heart transplants, up from the 334 interventions reported a year earlier. The highest number of heart transplants reached 380 interventions in 2017 and 2019, which then declined to 308 procedures after the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic. As of 2021, approximately 392 people were waiting for a heart transplant in the South American country.
