This statistic displays the results of a survey regarding public opinion on lowered monthly expenditure post the implementation of GST following the 2014 general elections as of February 2019. During the surveyed period, 44 percent of the respondents stated that they experienced lowered monthly expenditure, whereas 44 percent of the respondents stated that the implementation of GST had not lowered their monthly expenses.

Note: The original survey question was phrased as follows: "As a customer, have you experienced lower prices or monthly costs after the roll out of GST?".
The survey is in reference to the government formed after the 2014 general elections, which is the 16th Lok Sabha. The legislative term is for a five year duration. The elections are scheduled to be held in 2019.
*For the year 2019, the share of results was obtained from the participation of 5,795 of the 65,000 people who responded to this particular poll.
