This chart depicts the value of landfill tax in European countries as of 2017. According to the data, only four countries did not have a proper landfill tax, while Italy and Spain had big differences within their regions. In fact, landfill taxes in Italy went from 5.2 to 25.82 euros per ton, while in Spain they went from 7 to 41.19 euros. In the ranking, Austria was the country with the highest landfill tax, amounting to 84.53 euros.

* Italy and Spain have different taxes according to the region and type of waste. Croatia, Cyprus, Germany and Malta did not have a landfill tax and there were no landfills in the Brussels region as of the date of survey. Value in British Pounds.
