First released in 2018 by InnerSloth, Among Us is an online party game in which players act as crewmates and must identify the imposters among them in a space-themed setting. Downloads of the game skyrocketed some two years after its original release thanks to increasing attention from influencers on YouTube and Twitch. In the first half of September 2020, the game was downloaded almost 42 million times.
