Mexico: perceived insecurity by gender and location 2024
A national survey conducted from March to April 2024 revealed that 78 percent of adult women in Mexico felt unsafe at ATMs located on the street, whereas around 66 percent of the adult men interviewed said the same. The perceived level of insecurity was also almost 15 percentage points higher among women than men when it comes to visiting a bank. In the same line, around 19 of every 100 women in the country felt unsafe in their own homes.
