A survey conducted in 2019 investigated the most feared illnesses among parents in Italy. According to data, the most dreaded disease was cancer, chosen by 65.9 percent of respondents. The fear of dementia and degenerative neurological diseases was pointed out by 39.6 percent of mothers and fathers, while the share of parents being worried about illnesses hindering physical autonomy reached 33.3 percent.
