This statistic displays the amount of microplastics found per liter in select waterways in the United Kingdom (UK) in 2019, according to a survey conducted by Bangor University and Friends of the Earth. The findings show that the amount of microplastic found varied greatly, from 2.4 pieces per liter in Loch Lomond in Scotland, to more than 1,000 in the River Tame in Greater Manchester.
