The usage of antidepressants in Norway was significantly higher among women than men during the period from 2009 to 2020. The highest rate of usage per thousand inhabitants was in 2020, when nearly 87 women per thousand inhabitants and 44.6 men per thousand inhabitants were using antidepressants.
