In 2022, the number of licensed plastic surgeons in Brazil totaled about 7.83 thousand doctors, up from around seven thousand specialists reported two years prior. This figure has been increasing since 2013, when the number of doctors specializing in plastic surgery amounted to roughly 4.82 thousand physicians. As of 2022, there were over 41 thousand general surgeons in Brazil.
