In 2023, there were nearly 9,000 M&As technology, media and telecommunications sector, making it the most dynamic for M&A activity. The second most popular sector for M&As was business services, with over 6,000 deals. A merger of companies is a complex process and in many cases businesses decide to cooperate with financial advisors and investment bankers to make sure that all steps are accomplished properly. In 2023, Goldman Sachs led the ranking of the leading M&A advisory firms worldwide in terms of managed M&A transactions. Ranked second among financial advisory firms was JP Morgan.
