This statistic presents the results of a survey on the perceived amount of energy used that comes from renewable sources in Australia as of October 2018. According to data published by Ipsos, Australian respondents overestimated the use of renewable energy sources in their country by twelve percent. On average, the respondents thought that around 21 percent of energy consumed in Australia came from renewable sources, when the actual amount was around nine percent.

"What percentage of total energy consumed in Australia comes from renewable sources? Renewable sources can be defined as those that are not depleted when used, such as wind or solar power."
