Mental healthcare problems reported by citizens in Italy 2022
Mental healthcare is a fundamental component of human well-being, but providing this service is rarely considered a priority by public health institutions. This statistic shows the most popular problems related to public mental healthcare reported by citizens in Italy over the course of 2022. The most common reason for complaints was the untenable family situation caused by the need to take care of family members suffering from mental health conditions. The absence of proper and accessible public care, indeed, places the economic and social burden of this responsibility on the family. As a matter of fact, the poor quality of service provided by Mental health Departments (DMS) and difficulties to access public health care were also among the most common complaints.
