Natural gas storage capacity in Italy 2015-2024

In the thermal year 2023-2024, 13.4 million standard cubic meters of gas storage were allocated through auctions in Italy. The figure represented 100 percent of the total storage space available through the Italian gas storage system. The storage volume as of the end of October 2023 was 13.1 million standard cubic meters. 
In Italy, gas is accumulated in the summer and used in the winter, primarily for domestic use.
