The statistic shows the results of a survey about the share of individuals borrowing money from family and friends in Japan in 2017, by type of population. In the period surveyed, the highest share of respondents who borrowed money from family or friends was among young adults aged 15 to 24 years, with around eleven percent. In contrast, only two percent of respondents out of labor stated to have borrowed money from family or friends.
