Chikungunya cases in Brazil 2015-2023

The cases of chikungunya in Brazil have been fluctuating in recent years. In 2023, chikungunya cases in the country amounted to close to 257,000 infections, down from 266,000 cases registered a year earlier. Chikungunya infections peaked at more than 558,000 cases in 2016. During the last year depicted, Brazil was the country with the highest number of chikungunya cases in Latin America.
