This statistic shows the answers to a survey question on how much discount consumers from the Netherlands expected on Black Friday. Black Friday is a phenomenon from the United States that involves large deals and discounts on the day after Thanksgiving, the fourth Thursday in November. Traditionally, that day marks the beginning of the country's Christmas shopping season and in recent years the tradition became more popular in Europe as well. In 2018, Dutch consumers had high expectations of Black Friday: 85 percent of all respondents indicated they expected a discount of at least 20 percent.
