Annual attendance at live sports events in Japan 2022, by sport

According to a survey conducted in Japan between June to July of 2022, the live sporting event with the highest number of attendances in Japan was professional baseball with an estimated 25.17 million total visits. The second most popular type of sporting event to spectate in person was high-school baseball with more than 9.7 million visits. All of these figures declined compared to previous years, as the advent of the COVID-19 pandemic had adverse effects on live spectating of events.
