According to the data, the pharmaceutical market value of drugs sold by pharmacies in Italy experienced a negative trend starting from the second quarter of 2017 onwards, with the only exception of early 2019 and 2020. The largest year-on-year decrease was recorded during the second quarter of 2020 and the first of 2021, when the value of pharmaceuticals sold decreased by 11.4 percent compared to the same period of the previous year.
