In 2021, this trend followed, with SPACs gaining more traction. The best performing SPAC IPO of 2021 in the United States involved Digital World Acquisition Corp., which recorded a return of 371 percent as of December 2021. SPACs raised capital in a total of 613 IPOs throughout 2021.
