According to a survey on internet users in Malaysia, as of May 2022, 36.1 percent of respondents said they did not use any parental control software because they trusted their children. Meanwhile, 1.9 percent of respondents said they did not use it because the service would require payment.
Reasons for internet users not to use parental control software in Malaysia as of May 2022
* For the purpose of this survey, a parent is defined as an Internet user with child/children aged 5 to 17 years old that also accessed Internet. Sample for parents in this survey was based on confidence level of 95% and precision of ±5%. For parents with more than one child aged 5 to 17 that accessed Internet, they were asked to consider the child that celebrated the most recent birthday when answering the question.
