Confucius Institute is a non-profit public organization affiliated with the Ministry of Education of the People's Republic of China, established in 2004 and operating worldwide. The institutes aim to promote Chinese language and culture, support Chinese teaching internationally, provide information about China, yet are sometimes criticized for having a strong political agenda.
Confucius Classrooms are part of Confucius Institute program for Chinese language and culture learning among children in junior and high schools worldwide.
