A survey conducted in 2018 investigated the opinions about measures to restrict medical tourism between regions in Italy, by geographical area. According to data, the share of people in disagreement with policies to limit the possibility to receive cares outside their own region, was much higher than the percentage of individuals who agreed with it, all over Italy. The highest percentage of people who supported these kinds of measures was recorded in the North-West (28.7 percent).
