This statistic displays the results of a survey regarding the public optimism about the future following the 2014 general elections across India as of May 2018. During the measured time period, around 65 percent of respondents stated that they were optimistic about the future for themselves and their family as of the fourth year of the Modi ministry being in power.

Respondents include citizens from over 250 districts in India. Not all respondents answered the question.

Note: The original survey question was phrased as follows: "Do you feel optimistic about your and your family's future in India?".
The survey is in reference to the government formed after the 2014 general elections, which is the 16th Lok Sabha. The legislative term is five years long. The next elections are scheduled to be held in 2019.
