Share of generics on total prescribed class A drugs in Italy 2022, by region
In 2022, the average share of generics on total prescribed class A drugs in Italy was equal to 31.92 percent. This statistic records regional differences in this figure. According to the data, the Autonomous Province of Trento registered the highest share of prescribed generic drugs (44.2 percent). Lombardy and Tuscany followed with 41.17 percent and 40.23 percent, respectively. Conversely, in Campania generics accounted for just 21.47 percent of total drugs consumption.
