There has been a net decline in capital expenditure for the United Kingdom Continental Shelf since 2014. In 2022, the oil and gas industry is forecast to spend between 3.5 and four billion British pounds in capital investments. This would be an increase compared to the 3.4 billion British pounds spent in 2021 and a reflection of global oil and gas supply issues.
