This statistic shows the total number of purchases of B2C e-commerce products and services in Belgium from 2015 to 2017. In 2017, the number of online purchases reached a total of 86.5 million. This is an increase of two percent compared to the previous year.
Within the Benelux region, Belgium's e-commerce sector is not yet as developed as the sector in the Netherlands. BeCommerce, Belgium's e-commerce association, mentions for example that e-commerce is "ten times larger" in the Netherlands than it is in Belgium. It is growing rapidly, however. In 2016, Amazon was the largest online retailer in Belgium with a revenue of approximately 288 million euros.
