Accident and emergency attendances in England 2007-2023, by department type
In 2022/23, there were 16.7 million accident and emergency attendances in major A&E departments and another 6.6 million accidents in minor injuries and walk-in centers. A&E attendance significantly dropped in 2020/21 due to the COVID-19 pandemic. However, 2021/22 figures indicate that A&E attendance is no longer affected by the pandemic.
