According to a survey conducted in 2022, 39 percent of K-12 teachers at urban schools in the United States felt afraid that their students would be a victim of attack or harm at school while 17 percent feared the same for themselves. At schools with majority students of color, 36 percent of K-12 teachers reported feeling afraid for their students and 19 percent felt afraid for themselves.
