There were roughly 185,000 more square meters of non-residential construction projects completed in Colombia in 2023 than in the previous year. However, the volume of non-residential construction is still lower than in 2018, when there were 5.9 million square meters constructed for this end use. In 2020, the lowest volume of completed non-residential construction was reached at 2.96 million square meters.

The last edition of the study took into account projects within 23 main urban areas in Colombia. The number of areas taken into account has been increasing during the past years.
Supplementary notes
The calculations by Statista are a result of adding the following non-residential construction categories: offices, commerce, warehouses, education, hotels, hospitals, public administration, and others. Where the segment others includes constructions such as clubs, religious buildings, meeting rooms, cinemas, theaters, stadiums and other spaces designated to activities not included in the mentioned sectors.
