Favorite hot drinks consumed during the cold season in Japan 2021
The most popular hot beverage consumed in winter in Japan was coffee and coffee-like beverages as revealed in a survey conducted in January 2021. Japanese-style teas such as green tea, hojicha, and genmai-cha followed in second place, with around 57 percent of respondents.
Apart from freshly brewed drinks from coffee shops and at home, warm ready-to-drink (RTD) coffee and teas are available at vending machines during the cold season.
