This statistic displays opinions among Japanese whether transgender people have a form of mental illness as of 2017. When asked whether they believed transgender people have mental health issues, only about five percent of the respondents taking part in the Ipsos survey said they strongly agreed with the statement. On the other hand, 30 percent of the respondents in Japan reported to strongly disagree.
