While it is early to say how exactly the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic will affect the real estate sector and how long the impacts will continue, one thing that is already visible on the market is that many companies struggle to pay and collect rents. In May 2020, the retail tenants managed to cover only 63 percent of rent. Multifamily housing and office real estate proved as most resilient with respectively 96 and 90 percent of the rent covered.
