Share of women undergoing breast cancer screening in Italy 2008-2022
Between 2008 and 2022, the share of women between 50 and 69 years old undergoing breast cancer screening at least once in the previous two years in Italy has been always fluctuating, peaking in 2017 at 75.2 percent. As of 2022, around 71.8 percent of women in this age group underwent preventive examinations for breast cancer, whereas the previous year recorded the lowest figure during the considered period. The age group 50-69 is the one for which preventive breast cancer screening is most recommended. This statistic shows the share of women undergoing breast cancer screening in the previous two years in Italy from 2008 to 2022.
