In 2023, movie theaters in Canada and the United States sold more than 431 million to films that, according to the Motion Picture Association of America (MPAA), contained some material that could be inappropriate for people under 13, also known as PG-13 movies. In 2022, a total of 455 million tickets were sold for the whole year.
