In 2022, movies from the United States kept a record-low market share in movie ticket sales in Denmark, at 59 percent. Meanwhile, European films from out of Denmark reached 10 percent, down from 20 percent recorded previous year. Danish productions accounted for 30 percent of the cinema attendance in the Nordic country. That year, more than half of Denmark's domestic movies were fully financed by Danish sources.
