Of the three products surveyed here, biscuits were the most popular confectionery product in both years. In 2016, the sales volume of biscuits in the Netherlands was roughly 10.8 million kilos. By 2017, this had decreased to approximately 10.6 million kilos. For the bars a reserve trend was visible: between 2016 and 2017, the volume of bars sold in the Netherlands increased.
