This statistic depicts the results of a survey question designed to find out the frequency with which Italians used to purchase food products directly from local producers and/or farmers as of September 2017, broken down by macro-region. A glance at the graph reveals a high tendency to buy food from local producers among the people living in the Southern part of Italy and in the Islands: 21 percent and 30 percent of them, respectively, had the habit to purchase food from the farmers at least once per week. When it comes to the North-West macro-region, 19 percent of the interviewed people declared never to buy food from local producers.
