In 2022, close to four million people had a recognized degree of disability equal to or greater than 33 percent in Spain. The type of disability affecting most individuals was osteoarticular, with more than 990,000 people. Meanwhile, the number of individuals with a recognized degree of mental impairment reached close to 600,000 people in the country. That year, approximately 85,000 people aged between 65 and 79 had a recognized neuromuscular disability in Spain.
