The statistics have been made from the data extracted from several reports.
The pure fiber optic networks are composed entirely of fiber optic cables, which is why they are also referred to as fiber networks to the home ( Fiber To The Home, FTTH). The type of fiber network used by practically all operators in Spain is the GPON (Gigabit-capable Passive Optical Network in English, or Passive Optical Network with Gigabit Capacity in Spanish networks).
