R&D employment within the pharmaceutical industry in Spain 2008-2022

In 2022, the number of employees working in research and development within the Spanish pharmaceutical industry amounted to 5,498, the highest figure reported during the period analyzed. R&D employment in this sector increased by 14.5 percent in the last four years. During the last year depicted, the Spanish pharmaceutical industry spent more than 1.39 billion euros on research and development.
