The sales value from public auctions of art and collectibles in France decreased by 8.9 percent in 2023 over the previous year. After peaking at nearly 2.1 billion euros in 2022, the auction sales value amounted to 1.9 billion euros in 2023. Despite the annual decline, that was the second-highest figure reported over the period considered.
