In 2023, a study found that approximately 24.3 percent of the adult population in Brazil was considered obese. According to the body mass index (BMI) computed by the source with the weight and height of the respondents, 30 percent of adults aged between 45 and 54 years were found obese (BMI≥30kg/m2) that year, being the most affected age group by obesity in Brazil. By gender, obesity was more prevalent among women than men in the South American country as of 2023.
