This statistic shows the outcome of a survey done on the opinions on restoring the retirement age of 65 years among employees in the Netherlands, in 2017. The AOW scheme is an insurance scheme which covers everyone who lives or works in the Netherlands, regardless of nationality and is a basic state pension. As a rule, everyone who has reached the AOW pension age and lives or has lived in the Netherlands is entitled to this. Currently, the retirement age is set at 67 years and three months. As of 2017, roughly 60 percent of the Dutch respondents indicated that they are in favor of restoring the retirement age to 65 years for all employees.
