This statistic depicts the opinion of Italians on the abolition of daylight saving time in Italy in 2018. According to data, roughly 45 percent of the interviewed Italians were against the proposed changes. Summertime arrangements in the EU require that the clocks are changed twice per year in order to cater for the changing patterns of daylight and to take advantage of the available daylight in a given period. Between July 4 and 16 August 2018, the European Commission has carried out a survey among European citizens in which more than 80 percent of the respondents declared to be in favor of daylight saving time abolition.
