Boehringer Ingelheim España followed, with a total sales turnover of 621 million euros reported that year. Meanwhile, Moderna Biotech Spain had the highest sales value among leading Spanish companies in the wholesale of pharmaceuticals.

This Ranking of Spanish Companies classifies the companies based on sales value, which are obtained from the individual financial statements reported by each company at the registrar Registro Mercantil, with closing dates between July of the studied year and June of the following year (12 month period).
The database INFORMA D&B, from which the information was extracted, recolects data from multiple public and private sources such as BORME (Boletín Oficial del Registro Mercantil), BOE (Boletín Oficial del Estado), national and regional press, ad hoc research and other publications.
