Despite solar and onshore wind projects suffering financing delays due to the coronavirus pandemic, offshore wind investments surged in the first half of 2020. Figures for H1 2020 were nearly 50 percent higher than compared to the previous 6-month period. In total, some 28 new wind farms were greenlit between January and June 2020, valuing at 34.9 billion U.S. dollars.
